We're looking for a Bookkeeping Team Leader to lead our entire bookkeeping service at Gro Profit First Accountants in Cheltenham — running a small bookkeeping team, keeping your own portfolio, and raising the standard of everything we do. The role is 21–30 hours a week, £30,000–£39,000 FTE, flexible and hybrid.
The role
Around 80 regular monthly clients, a team of two or three bookkeepers (two in the Philippines, one local AAT technician), and the standard everything's held to. You'll keep your own portfolio and step in on the complex work where it counts, while making sure the right work gets done, to the right standard, comfortably ahead of every deadline. Every VAT return is filed by month-end — ideally the 28th.
The stack you'll run
A modern, automated practice: Xero for the books, Apron for receipts, Karbon for practice management, TaxCalc for year-end, Xenon Connect for quality, and Syft for client reporting. Payroll experience (BrightPay) is a bonus, not a requirement.
Who this is for
At least four years in practice, AAT qualified ideally but qualified by experience is absolutely fine. A natural organiser, independent and self-motivated, a real communicator confident managing a remote team, and curious about technology and AI in the industry.
